Thunderbird Motel ΓÇó Keep your eyes open for this great motel located just south of Route 66.  The spectacular porcelain neon sign was designed to lure travelers off of Route 66, into the clean and comfortable accommodations offered by the motel.  The Thunderbird is currently owned by Ralph and Linda Overturf, who have created a mini-Route 66 museum in the lobby.  Frequent travelers of this stretch of Route 66 speak highly of the Thunderbird and highly recommend it as the place to stay in Joplin.  The Route 66 memorabilia is not to be missed and the service has been called, "second to none."  2121 Rangeline, tel# 417-624-7600
